本学では2004年から「京の美意識」と題する公開講座を開催してきました。この展覧会ではこの講座に登壇された工芸家による五種の工芸作品を紹介いたします。墨守するだけでは伝統を継続しがたいこんにちにあって、あらたな展開にもチャレンジしながら活動を続ける現代京都の名工たちの姿をご覧いただきます。

We have been holding an open lecture, “Kyoto’s Aesthetic Sense,” since 2004. In this exhibition, we introduce five types of craft works by the craftsmen who were on stage in this course. It is difficult to continue the tradition by simply adhering to old customs, and you will see the master works of modern Kyoto artisans, who continue their activities while challenging new developments.
