The University Museum Association of Kyoto, which was founded in 2011, through cooperation among university museums in and around Kyoto City, has engaged in various activities to revitalize museums collaboratively and introduce and exhibit various collections and research findings.
One such activity is the joint exhibition. With the one held in Kyoto in 2012 being the first, joint exhibitions have since been held in Fukuoka City, Tagajo City in Miyagi, and Naha City in Okinawa. In 2018, the first international joint exhibition was held in Taiwan.
We had planned a joint exhibition in October 2020—the Olympic year—themed on sports and Kyoto’s culture, at the University of Tsukuba. However, the COVID-19 pandemic rendered the plan unfeasible. Therefore, we have now decided to hold reconstructing the planned exhibition as a digital catalog and releasing it to the public. This is a trial of the new style of exhibitions. We also received the cooperation of University of Tsukuba.
Please enjoy this joint exhibition in the new format, as a digital catalog.
