本展では、パリを中心に活躍するヴィオレーヌ・ヴィエイユフォン（1970-）が手がける「水」をテーマとする大画面の屏風作品を中心に展示します。水は、万物流転ということばによって示されるように、あらゆる生命の源です。水にまつわる彼女の作品をとおして、自然の美しさ、四季の移ろい、そして万物の儚い本質に触れ、国や地域を越えて、現代の私たちが抱える環境への課題など、水について一緒に考える機会となれば幸いです。

This exhibition focuses on large-scale folding screen works on the theme of ‘water’ by Violaine Vieillefond, an artist based in Paris. As the phrase ‘the flow of all things’ suggests, water is the source of all life. Through her works featuring water, we hope to offer an opportunity to experience the beauty of nature, the changing of the seasons, and the ephemeral essence of all things, whilst also reflecting together on the environmental challenges facing us today, transcending national and regional boundaries.
